I truely think there were more boys who cared about the game this year. Some may have grew iinto some maturity. Also not to knock the other coaches at all, because they are great guys. They are maybe just a bit lax in giving it to them. With that being said, Pete does not put up with the bull that alot of the players gave last year.
Although Pete was bearly home, I am SO proud of him for taking time to volunteer as a coach. He definately enjoyed it and he plans on continuing next year. It will be with the 6th graders though not the highschool team. To him it doesn't seem to matter. He truely just enjoys the interaction and the direct instruction he has with the guys, as well as the respect many give him. I do not think there was ONE player who didn't like him. Trev has many friends and alot of them played. Everytime we would see them football or not they arelike " HEY COACH HOLMES! " That makes a difference and makes it seem like it is worth every minute, even if the game makes you hoarse. LOL
